Successful Debut of Electric Racing in Hong Kong – Paving the Path for Future Events
The first-ever Formula E HKT Hong Kong ePrix and e-Touring Car Challenge had been successfully held in Hong Kong Central Harbourfront on 8th and 9th October. The success would not have been possible without the tremendous support of Mr Lawrence Yu Kam-kee, President of Hong Kong Automobile Association and Mr. Alan Fang, CEO of Formula Electric Racing (Hong Kong) Limited (FERHK) Special thanks must go to Mr Gregory So Kam-leung, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, who joined the event personally as the award presenter, and various departments of the HKSAR government for their support which made the first racing event in Hong Kong possible.
ANDREW LO CROWNED E-TOURING CAR CHALLENGE PROFESSIONAL RACE CHAMPION
Celebrities Chin Ka-lok, Fong Chun-shun & Aaron Kwok Fu-shing on podium for celebrity race
8 October 2016, Hong Kong: Hong Kong’s touring car race regular Andrew Lo has stormed to victory in the professional class of the e-Touring Car Challenge in a time of 15 minutes and 32.8 seconds, ahead of Paul Poon. Denise Yeung, the only female racer in the professional class contest, was a further 12 seconds behind to round off the podium of winners.
In the celebrity edition, consisting of five local artists, was won by Chin Ka-lok who led from start to finish to record a time of 15 minutes and 36.2 seconds. Following closely was Alex Fong Chun-shun and Aaron Kwok Fu-shing who chequered flagged second and third in 15 minutes and 49.5 seconds and 16 minutes and 4 seconds respectively. Chau Parkho and Jacquelin Chong were fourth and fifth.
E-TOURING CAR CHALLENGE SET FOR OPENING ACT OF FORMULA E HKT HONG KONG EPRIX
8 October 2016, Hong Kong: The stage is set and all parties are ready for e-Touring Car Challenge to play first act of the Formula E HKT Hong Kong ePrix, a two-day spectacle that celebrates sustainable, electric-powered motor sport.
A brainchild of Formula Racing Development Ltd (FRD), the world’s premiere for e-Touring cars will be comprised of 16 drivers including five local celebrities Aaron Kwok, Chin Ka-lok, Alex Fong Chun-shun, Pakho Chau and Jacquelin Chong, and 11 locally renowned veteran racers. The drivers will thrill fans as they meander their way through the 2km track against the breathtaking backdrop of the universally acclaimed Hong Kong skyline. The 10-lap race, which is expected to take about 20 minutes to complete, will take the drivers through some of the city’s most world known iconic landmarks including Hong Kong City Hall, International Finance Centre and Central Ferry Pier.

Formula Racing Development Limited (FRD) has successfully launched an electric racing car for the world’s first-ever e-Touring Car Challenge to be held on 8 October as a supporting race of 2016 FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix. Three-time Drivers' Champion of the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), Andy Yan, renowned action movie star Chin Ka-lok and popular Hong Kong singer Pakho Chau were invited to experience the very first track attempt of the racing car. ....
Artist Pakho Chau gearing up for the Clio Cup China Series
Singer and artist Pakho Chau made a trip to Zhuhai this week for a training by Andy Yan on the track at Zhuhai International Circuit in preparation for his first race at the Clio Cup China Series.
Pakho may join the world’s first-ever e-Touring Car Challenge taking place at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront this October 8 if he performed well in the Clio Cup China Series. The e-Touring Car Challenge, featuring renowned celebrity drivers and legendary Hong Kong drivers, is a prelude and highlight of the the first Formula E Hong Kong ePrix.....
